 Mission Statement:

” Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately, the tree withered. When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked. Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Matthew 21:19-22 NIV

Our goal is to uplift and empower women, so they feel confident and ready to serve the Lord. We aim to help women grow through healing, restoration, and transformation. We want to nurture spiritually strong women who serve in ministry with love, peace, unity, and joy. By encouraging, supporting, praying for, and loving one another, we can help women of Zion share their spiritual gifts. This will create a community of strong, supported, and wise women in Christ, making a positive impact across Zion Baptist Church’s ministries.

How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. Psalm 133:1-2 NIV

 Mission Statement

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV

The Missionary Ministry of Zion Baptist Church aims to provide spiritual and emotional support to our congregation, community, and anyone in need. We fulfill this mission by dedicating ourselves to the teachings of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Additionally, we commit to sharing our knowledge, gifts, and talents with others. Mission Statement

Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. Psalm 84:10 NIV

The Ushers’ main mission is to serve. Our aim is to reflect Christ and
the church through our service. Ushers honor the Lord by identifying their
spiritual gifts and actively applying them to the church’s ministry. This ministry aims to support the church’s overall goal of fostering both spiritual and numerical growth.

Sis. Sonia McCray, Convener

Evangelistic Task Force: Ministry of Servanthood; source of information, resource of support, and a vehicle to salvation.

Mission Statement

“Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.” Luke 14:23

The purpose of the Task Force is to compel, convince, conform, and then convert the unsaved sinner to Jesus Christ.

Vision: To evangelize the neighboring communities and operate as a visible, available force in Zion.

The Evangelistic Task Force is one of many ministries that operate, grow, lead, and evangelize within the Zion family. Taskforce members welcome people as they enter the church, evangelize on street corners, visit nursing homes, and take part in kingdom-building activities.

Min. Annie L. Barnes

Minister Annie Barnes has been a member of Zion Baptist Church since September 1986. Minister Barnes was appointed Church Treasurer in 1990 and continues to serve in this capacity today. She has been a student of Zion Baptist Church Bible Institute since its inaugural semester in the fall of 1994, eventually becoming a faculty member. From 2005 to 2011, Minister Barnes has also served as an instructor at the Zion Baptist Church Bible Institute. As part of Pastor Peace’s progressive and visionary initiative within Zion, Minister Barnes, along with eleven other women, began training as deacons, and on November 30, 1997, they were duly ordained as deacons. To expand her ministerial capabilities, Minister Barnes began seminary training to become a licensed minister. On January 27, 2002, she was licensed to preach the gospel by Reverend Dr. M. Marquette Peace, Jr. Currently, Minister Barnes serves as the Minister to All Ministries. She is the mother of four children—one daughter and three sons—as well as a grandmother of twelve and a great-grandmother of eight.

Mission Statement

“In the same way, deacons are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons. In the same way, the women are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything. A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well. Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.”

 I Timothy 3:8-13 NIV

The Deacon Ministry bears the responsibility of supporting the Pastor in worship activities, as well as helping during Baptism and Communion services. It also involves caring for the elderly, the sick, shut-ins, and those in need. Furthermore, the Deacon Ministry is tasked with aiding in Bible teaching, leading outreach initiatives, evangelism, prayer meetings, and serving as a resource of wisdom and strength in their leadership roles within Zion Baptist Church.
